COVID-19 UPDATE / 2020 - 2021 School Year
We are excited to welcome students and staff back for the 2020-2021 school year. With all of the uncertainties during these times we want to assure you that it is our goal here at MHCA to make sure we provide our students and staff a safe and productive environment. We are a family, for we are your parenting partners, and we treat the students as if they were our own. We are the village.
When we opened the campus in June, it was in preparation for the new school year. We are now in our 8th week of practicing all the mandated requirements involving COVID-19. God has been faithful in protecting us as we adhere to the guidelines given by CDC.
- Implementing social distancing strategies
- Intensifying cleaning and disinfecting efforts
- Modifying drop-off and pick-up procedures
- Implementing screening procedures upon arrival
Our practicing during these 8- weeks has given us confidence as we enter into this “New Norm,” that God will continue to guide and keep us as we walk through these times. He promised that He would never leave or forsake us.
Our first day of class will be on August 10, 2020. All our classes will be face to face for Prek-4 – 2nd grade. The student ratio is 10 to one teacher for those classes. All staff will wear face shields, or masks and all students will wear masks except for the 18 months students. We will be practicing social distancing and hand sanitization. The Attorney General Ken Paxton issued a guidance letter to religious private schools in Texas, informing them that the First Amendment and Texas law, allows religious private schools to determine for themselves when to reopen. With much prayer and guidance, the decision was made to re-open the entire campus with students interfacing with their teacher. From our experience this summer, we are excited as we enter into this new space and era of trusting God to guide us in all our ways.
Parents will not enter the building except CCMS parents to check in. Parents will not enter the classrooms as a precautionary measure to lessen exposure to the children. Temperatures will be taken before entrance into the building. Temperatures of 100 will not be allowed in the building. Sanitizing stations are in all classrooms. Lunch and classes will be arranged where there will be no large grouping or mixed grouping.
More detailed information will be provided for each of you regarding our new way of proceeding during this year. We are looking forward to an amazing year as we allow God to lead us through these times.” In all our ways if we acknowledge Him, he will direct our path”. Prov.3:6
-The dream works with team work. Let’s do this team.
